Burn a Quran day is now gone. Thank god. According to BBC, Terry Jones was visited by FBI multiple times. I don’t blame it. He was a threat to the entire nation.
I have to say that I was quite scared. In fact I think everyone was scared. No matter what religion they had, or where they came from. We all hoped that Terry Jones wouldn’t commit such radical act. Now that everything is over, I guess we should be thankful to president Obama for stopping Terry Jones from doing such retarded move.

Florida Pastor Terry Jones plan on buring Qurans in 9/11 2010 in the act of reacting against the terrorist act that happened in the World Trade Center. He is not just a normal person. He’s a pastor. In the bible it says that we must learn to forgive each other. Despite the fact that it is clearly written in the bible, he still decided to go along with the plan
Burning a Quran is a terrible idea these days. Soldiers in Iraq were sent home because the situation is getting better. However if this pastor decides to burn the Quran, then everything that US did in Afghanistan and Iraq will be ruined. Soldiers will get killed, and the number of terrorist act will increase.
People say that Pastor Terry Jones has the right to do such radical thing according to the American constitution. But if the believe he has is a threat to other religion or a threat to the nation itself, wouldn’t that be against the law? Please someone do something. We must stop him from doing such thing and bring a terrible chaos to the world. 9/11 is only 3 days away from today… We don’t have much time.
We are humans and humans are meant to co-exist and help each other out. Also we are suppose to know how to forgive. Let’s bring peace to this world and let’s keep it this way. Alot of people fought and sacrificed their lives to bring peace to this world. Let’s not waste those sacrifices. We must be thankful to the world we live in right now. We really should.
English Flaws
I find English a very unpractical language that ever exists. It is not because I am seriously ESL, but it is because as a person who speaks 4 languages, 2 being fluent, I realized lots of flaws in English. Let’s start with synonyms. English is the only language that has hundreds of words that have the same meaning. There is even a synonym dictionary because even the people who has English as their first language don’t know all the words that exists in our world. Why did people create synonyms?! Some will argue that synonyms exist to make English more elegant, sophisticated, and beautiful language. B.S. If you are actually going to say that, only say it when you can get 2400 on SAT I THEN I will let you say that synonyms are necessary.
Capital letters are so overrated. Let’s look at Asian language for example. They don’t have any symbols that represent the start of the sentence either than the period sign. Even without the “Capital letters” they can speak, write, and listen without trouble. In fact, they don’t have to learn extra stuff in their own grammar.
Colour and color. Learnt and learned. What is the difference? One is used in commonwealth countries and the other is used in the United States. Really? Is this necessary? English is from England. Why did you guys have to change the spelling… Just to be different? Or is it because you hate UK so much. It may not sound like a big deal to all you English speaking people… But for people who are ESL, it is REALLY a big deal.
So let’s review what we can do to English. First, erase all the useless synonyms from the dictionary. Second, do not use capital letters. Lastly, use UK’s way of spelling not the American way. If these ammendments are made, then I will say that English is the best language that exists in the world.
Starbucks
Before Starbucks came out, we bought coffees from local 7/11 or had to make one ourselves from our house. Coffee was really cheap and more importantly, tasty. However, ever since Starbucks came into the streets, everything changed and I mean EVERYTHING.
1 cup of coffee costs about 4 bucks in starbucks. FOUR BUCKS! Also the coffee itself isn’t even tasty. However some people buy them almost everyday. They drink it like it’s their medicine. Starbucks claims that they are environment friendly with their newly special cup. But in reality, those cups are not recycled, they are just thrown into our environment. One thing that’s funny about people who drink starbucks coffee is that they ALWAYS use starbucks cup or a mug that has a starbucks logo on it. Also when they drink it, they always make sure the logo is shown outwards and not hidden by palm of your hand. What does this mean? This means that people drink coffee not for the taste or flavor, they drink it just to appear more intelligent, classic, or rich. Because in our world, people thinks that starbucks coffee is the best coffee in the world.
Do we really need to drink coffee everyday? When the starbucks wasn’t available to us, I am sure that people drank less coffee. Starbucks is a privilege, not a right. Drink responsibly.
Eternal Peace
Some might argue that eternal peace is not reachable because people are born to be violent. I don’t blame them. With Afghanistan war going on right now as I am typing, it seems like we will never be able to reach the eternal peace. However, when you think about it, we have reached the eternal peace within the major powering countries. We just have to worry about radical countries that are in chaos almost everyday.
Ever since UN was created, there has been numerous peace keeping related treaties that most of the countries signed to. Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty is one of the examples where it brought countries together to create peace. Treaties like this actually made countries less agressive. However, there will always be some countries that are against the treaty. Countries like North Korea will never be on the same side as the rest of the countries. Also countries like Afghanistan, where the government actually supports USA will also turn against other countries not because of the government, but because of the radical terrorist group.
This blog post isn’t about all the conflicts and chaos between radical countries. This blog post is about how we have actually reached the eternal peace. Ever since the nuclear warhead was created, major warfare has stopped. The reason is that the world has reached the stalemate where there is a guarantee that starting a war will end the world itself. Perhaps this IS the eternal peace…. In a radical way of course.
Gunman
First I would like to say sorry to all the family and friends who were close to the victims of Virginia Tech. It was a terrible incidence. I remember a tragedy in Virginia Tech where a gunman killed many students in the campus. I was terrified and couldn’t believe what I was hearing. How could anyone come in to a University, ready to kill people and then kill yourself at the end of the day?
People can turn insane in the blink of a second. When your loved one is taken away from you, when you are bullied, or when you simply lose hope of yourself or humanity. From that second, you will turn insane. You may not know if you are and you may not appear to others as an insane person, but after your wrongs are rectified, people will then realize that you have reached insanity
There was another gunman incidence, where a person walked into the discovery channel building with a handgun and explosives strapped around his body. I mean really? A discovery channel building? According to New York Times, ”Police officials said the company had identified the gunman to them as James J. Lee. A Web site run by Mr. Lee, SaveThePlanetProtest.com, was established in January 2008. The Web site complains that the Discovery Channel produces programs about the environment for profit, not for humanitarian reasons.” ok first of all, Discovery Channel is there to educate you, not to influence others. Discovery Channel only displays facts not opinions for a reason, because they don’t want to be bias with an opinion. I can’t believe that he would go into the discovery channel to do something like that… I mean… kids watch that show… Discovery Channel used to be one of my favorite channels and it was the only TV channel that my parents approved of.
Please. Lesson learned. If you want to influence people’s mind, don’t commit crime or don’t do any terrorist act. What you are only doing is bringing up a negative point of view against you and you will never get anything done either than getting yourself killed.
Modern Live Performance. Wow…
I am completely for live performances. I love the energy, mood, crowd, and I just love how bands sound so much different live. I completely respect bands that absolutely give everything they’ve got in live performance. Bands like Muse, Radiohead, and U2 are absolutely fantastic in live. However, in modern days, people are being stupid and not realizing the purpose of modern music. Artists like Deadmau5 or tiesto are performing “live” these days. I mean really?
What is the purpose of live performance? Live performance is for people to perform on the spot without pre-recorded tracks. Some might argue that the purpose of live music is not just with performance but to enjoy the music itself. Well for those of you who think this way, I have something to tell you. If you want to enjoy the music, go to a club or a dance party. Not a music festival. What you don’t realize is that all dj has to do is to pretend they are making the music on the spot while playing the pre-recorded tracks.
Now let’s look at other pop musics. People like Ke$ha or Fergie. Actually never mind Ke$ha. I heard her sing in her real voice. Let’s talk about Fergie or other artists that use auto-tune. In the CD album, if you listen to them, their voice sounds amazing but at their live performance, their music sounds like shit. They are just embarassing themselves. If you are good looking but you can’t sing, don’t go into the music industry, go into the dancing industry
I respect Lady Gaga alot. She has her own style, she sings live, her voice is real. Also I just love her outfit. We need more people like her in the pop industry. I am satisfied by the current rock industry because they play for real. But in today’s pop industry, people should start learning from Lady gaga
Vegetarian
Believe it or not, humans are actually supposed to be a vegetarian animal. However in reality, vegetarians are considered to be in the minority. I am not a vegetarian. Sometimes I want to try becoming one but not eternally. I want to try becoming one because it is a good diet and it is healthy for you. However, I can never imagine myself not eating meat until I die. There are two main reasons why people become vegetarians from meat eaters. Some change because they want to lose weight or lose the amount of grease consumption by eating vegetables. On the other hand, some become vegetarians because they are appalled by the way animals are killed.
I understand people who became vegetarians because they want to lose diet. I once was on this category. I was desperate in losing weight even though I am a guy. I love vegetables. They are healthy, and they make you feel good after you eat them. Also with salad dressings, it is absolutely mouth-watering.
Let’s look at people who became vegetarian because of the killing of animals. There are two different types in this category. One is vegan and the other one is “non-meat eating but eating fishes”. First of all, law of the Darwin states “Natural Selection”. In order for an organism to live, another must die. So why be appalled by killing animals? There are people that are against meat eating but are for fish eating. They say that fishes are ok to eat because they can’t feel the pain. Who said that? There is no scientific research proving that they can’t feel. In fact, there is actually a scientific research that they can think and react to the environment when they sense danger. If you eat fish and you call yourself a vegetarian, then you are a ridiculous hypocrite.
Vancouver
I love Vancouver. I love it because the weather is great, people are nice, and the nature is unbelievably beautiful. I’ve been living in Vancouver for 6 years and I’ve loved every aspect of it. However, recently, I came across something that degraded Vancouver. The irony is that it is something that can be fixed easily.
Recently, Vancouver has been experiencing numerous traffic jams. Some were caused by car collision and some were caused by the road construction. All these two factors however, are caused because of the way Vancouver is changing right now. I have no idea but the mayor of Vancouver is making the roads even narrower. The funny part is that not only they are doing a road construction and causing the traffic jam, but because of this construction, cars are colliding to each other. Also, let’s say that there is a reason behind making the road smaller. (With some bizarre reason) Why do they have a construction in the middle of rush hour? Road construction is something that can be done at night or when fewer cars are on the road. Let’s take Japan and Korea example. The policy of both country is that all the construction that negatively influence the citizen are to be done at night.
I love every aspect of Vancouver. That is why it is called the best place on earth as its motto. However I have every reason to believe that we can even make this beautiful city even better. I don’t want to be noted as someone who hates Vancouver. Instead, I would like to be noted as someone who sincerely cares for Vancouver.
