Moment- Tennis
I get my racquet out and grab some bright yellow balls. I slowly bounce them against the ground, feeling the texture, feeling the warmth, and feeling the weight, concentrating on a ball. I slowly calm your body. I throw the ball high into the sky and wait. I wait untill the ball reaches to it’s right height. Then I use every power and swing my racquet as hard as I can, hoping that my ball will go in. I see the ball spinning through the air, over the net. Feeling relieved that the ball went in, I quickly change your racquet grip and go into the ready position. I see oponent returning the ball. In that moment, I observe the oponent and think. I think about the direction that my oponent is returning the ball, the power of the ball it is coming. In my mind, I quickly decide where to go. Either to move forward close to net, to move left, to move right, or to move back. I hesitate for a moment and quickly makes the decision. After I moved to a correct spot, I plant your feet. Then I change my grip to the way I want and return the ball back.
Tennis is the game of moment. Every moment, I observe, think, and decide. If I make a bad decision in that moment, you fall into pieces. However, if I handle that moment successfully, the outcome is so precious and valuable.
All human beings will one day turn cold and die. We will stop breathing and we will slowly rot. We are not growing, but we are dying every hour, every minuit, and every second. Most of the people in our world lives in a pattern. They have breakfast, go to school or work, have lunch, come back home, have dinner, and sleep. What is the point of the word “life” if our lives are always the same? I live to experience, I live to enjoy every moment. I live to succeed in everymoment. Life is like a game of tennis. If we fail at making a right decisions in our moment, our life will be pointless and will fall into pieces. However if we succeed in making a right decision, the outcome will be so precious and valuable.
Dextre
On March 11, 2008, a space shuttle Endeavour came back from a historic mission. This space shuttle installed new Canadian made robot named “Dextre” on International Space Station. This Robot is designed to do work on the ISS for the astronauts to carryout risky missions. However with the help of this special robot, crew members inside the ISS will be able to do numerous jobs to maintain the space station’s ability.
This robot costs about $200 million. This will work as a human mechanic and it has a greater flexibility than human. It is equipped with camera, lights, and four tool holders. Also this can lift up to 600 kilograms. Also its accuracy of positioning hardware is up to two millimeters. One unique fact about this robot is that it is able to sense when to use more pressure or force. They use this technology to tighten a screw or a bolt.
There are several matters that Canada should be proud of, and making this robot-arm is one of them. Canadians made 3 robot arms in total. The first piece was Canadarm2, and second piece was Mobile Base System. Dexter is the third piece. Making these robot-arm gave Canada a huge benefit. The CSA owns 2.3 percent of research space on the station. This gives Canadians some ability to carry out experiments in the orbital lab. I also believe that development of this robot arm will lead us numerous advantages on future experiments on space even on different planet.
